In January 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of a new corona virus disease in Hubei Province, China as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. WHO stated there is a high risk of the 2019 corona virus disease (COVID-19) spreading to other countries around the world. The Solomon Islands Government is taking action to prepare for, and respond to, the threat of a COVID-19 outbreak.
